Not really an excuse, you wanted a way to PvE safely then thats what you’re going to have to do. No one is removing PvP because players can’t spend more than 5 minutes choosing a safe server, especially with the addition of server select and clan servers. If someone joins you while doing cargo then you need to find out where they spawn and then determine if you’re sailing towards or against them. If you’re sailing towards, then deposit at nearest shipwright. If you’re sailing against, then keep doing your thing cause no one’s going to find you if you’re already halfway to your destination
6 files all at least level 125
i can recall getting ganked as a low level twice
Yeah I agree that it’s not that much of an issue rn, but getting rid of agility will take away one of the most reliable ways people have to disengage from forced pvp. Thankfully we will get that ship feature that won’t allow players to board someone’s ship until sunk or heavily damaged , we’ll have to wait and see how the playerbase reacts.
oh brother not this shit again
just to note, Getting rid of agility is a change done not for PVP reasons but because vetex didn’t like it and it wasn’t lore accurate to him
This just happens to make PVP balancing easier, I think disengaging from PVP should be encouraged with strategic use of moves which we CURRENTLY lack due to the lack of complex attacks and skills but with the addition of moves like towering impact I’m sure we will get tons of escape skills later down the line
we don’t even need complex moves to escape all yall have to do is spam dash away
i’ve been on the leaderboard
i’ve done ganking for clan infamy
i’ve been ganked for my own clan infamy
i can tell you guys with 100% certainty as someone who runs zero agility that escaping a gank is that simple
i agree with this. i never have and never will run agility, yet i have run from more fights than i have won or lost
Someone ganked me at level 90-100 by destroying my ship while I was at Sandfall.
Kindly tell me how dash spamming would’ve saved me there.
I also want to ask how exactly these people are escaping ganks by just running. I do the same, but I straight-up cannot escape whatsoever if I’m not on my Paladin file. I can see Cream’s point on how the ganker will also be screwed somewhat by Agility getting removed now, though.
Also, this might just be me, but I feel like escaping even when everyone has the same movement speed isn’t going to be as simple as implied, mainly because of beam-like abilities, especially guns. I fear anyone who can aim those M1s consistently, because I know damn well that I can’t.
you’re fucked there lmao
with or without agility
Islands aren’t flat nor straight, the attacker has plenty of opportunities to hit you while you’re turning around or climbing something. In order to escape a gank you have to lose the guy chasing for long enough to leave combat, and because of revealing potions and dot effects that keep you in combat for longer it’s really hard.
so when they’re chasing you, they also have to turn around / climb stuff
in fact, it’s even easier on a complex island since there’s plenty of opportunities to break line of sight once you turn a corner
are we talking about dark sea islands?
I mean he’s still acting super arrogant and condescending, he still belittles people, he’s still super aggressive, he still can hardly get through a sentence without throwing some snarky remark on the end, and his points are still inconsistent.
He’s acting exactly the same way as he was then.
Yes, and it wouldn’t be the first time part of the game experience sucked.
actually I suppose it would since open world PvP happened before these other things
now i dont have to build agility to run from agility gankers!!
(this benefits me as i run 0 agility pve build)
wtf?
the removal of agility was definitely warranted, first of all. if you don’t like that it’s terrible for pvp, think about how it affects you guys. you can’t even run from someone who’s chasing you if they have a significant amount of agility.
“but i need to climb dark sea islands!!” its not even that hard to climb dark sea islands without agility. theres the shift lock climbing tech that gets you up there in like 30 seconds. its not that bad
second of all, why the fuck are you referring to pvpers as lower than people? what’s wrong with you? you got jumped in a fucking video game. you have the right to be mad about it, but you don’t have the right to call your attacker fucking subhuman.
and it’s not even like i disagree with the open world pvp being handled terribly, but god, some of yall pve demons really make me want to side with the gankers. grow up.
I don’t think they’re less than people, I think toxic gankers are just really really shitty people that shouldn’t be catered to.
One issue with the removal of agility that I think will still put non-competitive players on the back foot is the existence of agility potions.
While, yes, they can use them, they’re not gonna because they want to save them for dark sea expeditions, not to get away from a PvP encounter.
idk if those are staying ingame
