When swords become a ranged weapon, I don’t think weapon practicality matters anymore ![]()
Not that it matters how practical your weapons are anyway, mage solos lower builds easily

Theoretically then, can’t you just pick up a piece of paper, say “Zillion-Cut Shredder!”, and cause somebody to bleed out? I would think you can’t because paper doesn’t really work that well as a weapon.
Stock this doesn’t really work in your favor considering paper magic used to exist
That’s an elemental magic, not a weapon. Do you see swords only working because of sword magic?
Yes, that’s how swords work.
Stock weapons in the arcane universe work 90% the way they do because of magic energy.
With that triasta of his, Calvus should only be able to inflict some minor injuries to Neviro, yet he slammed him into the ceiling and knocked him unconscious.
Breaking down a wall, even with that halberd of his, should take Argos several hours to do, yet we see him smash it open in seconds.
All this is literally only possible with magic.
So yeah, swords in Arcane Universe do only work the way they do because of sword magic.
Yes…
I’m saying that weapon aura wouldn’t work if you tried to use it on something flimsy or unweaponlike.
in reality i dont think theres any lore reason why trace magic energy is only used with normal weapons but if there is itd probably be something like this (though thatd mean the magic would need to be affected by the properties of the object somehow)
Stock.
This is a weapon almost completely the opposite of trident, just not quite. This weapon is absolutely ineffective as a trident.
With a scythe, you can slash someone, pull them closer, or at least stab them sideways.
With this you can… stab them with a single of the four spikes, because the curve seems to be made to keep the person away from other spikes? Bash them and cause minor blunt and stab damage, because that thing has little mass, and the side spikes are pretty much useless? Stab them with the handle which seems to be made so you can only stab someone once?
That’s a scepter, not a trident, and it’s still a weapon.
We also have literall sticks, branches and huge branches as weapons, regardless of how rudimentary they are.
Triasta, as a weapon, is in every way less realistic than a scythe.
It’s got pointy bits, seems like a good weapon to me.
its probably just a symbolic thing for the king, but when you can slam someone into the ceiling, anything become an effective weapon ![]()
Yeah like a scythe
You just shove the blade inbetween the enemy’s legs and uppercut them, bonus psychological damage
Also mr @Divanochi pls split the thread we’re dishearteningly close to 1k already
Are we actually turning this into a discussion like deadass
scythes r just katanas but worse
Yeah, but you see, it looks cool without being edgy
Polearms are not objectively the “best” weapon. The reach is great, but they tend to be ineffective in close quarters or if a swordsman gets inside the reach of the weapon.
We were near 850 bro
tell that to neviro
