Both parties have gone into a ‘sunken fallacy’ where they’ve gone on long enough to the point where they don’t wanna back out anymore, maybe cause otherwise they’re seen as cowards or because they’ve already invested so much into it
this is less symbolism for ganking and more symbolism for an unfair fight, from the perspective the pvp players would actually understand. My choice to not state my actual opinion here is very intentional

At default, them attacking you won’t put you into PvP, this effect is permanent
UNTILL YOU attack SOMEONE
Then the ‘shield’ is gone
Permanently
Indirect damage such as dot or magic rubble doesn’t count since then players can just force you
And munera garden/elysium/whatever just doesn’t count
if we go with your 20 level gap and we’re still at the current max - you’re telling a level 120 without dodge reflex & just got awakening to “learn” whilst not having a vital feature though
wasnt being super serious with that reply, i can see the issues for people progressing the first time (hell it happened to one of my friends at one point)
however, i think a toggle would work nicely. or maybe not, i dont really care all that much in the end
I think I’ve only been jumped like once while progressing. It was on my zoro build, lets just say that shadow conjurer got his ass whooped by a level 100 with like 10 power and 100 defense
