Reviewing your suggestions for AO!

i read this slowly and it still seems a bit confusing, thinking of like a menu like how magic and strength has menus for their skills to be edited i’m not too sure about it for weapons, it’d cram the menu even more and gosh imagine the savant builds.

what issue were you trying to solve with this idea btw? like making it so you can equip more drippy weapons with lower points in weapons?
it seems unnecessary to me for now with developer busy with nimbus sea

i don’t see how 1 extra section in the spell / technique editing menu would cram it

  • lack of customizability in weapons
  • the fact that the same weapon skills have different level requirements between different weapons which i think is goofy (ah yes let a weapon user lose skills for trying to use a higher tier weapon)
  • you’d only have to grind one weapon instead of 3
  • gives weapons more identity (you hear about “lightning sailor warlock” or “wood fire mage” but it’s only “light conjurer” or “warrior”)
  • makes developing new weapons and weapon skills less of a hassle because reskinned skills like the millions of weapon grabs and throws would be combined into 1 and vetex wouldn’t have to make a million weapon variants where only half are used
  • could make for more unique weapons like the atlantean mace which applies slowness or the poison and scald tooth dagger
  • weapon users would only have to manage 1 hotbar slot instead of 3 (this is good for a class like savant who literally has 6 slots they need to manage on the first awakening, people complain about reaching the g key being hard but can u imagine trying to reaching the 6 key mid fight)

ik a whole ass weapon rework isn’t gonna happen this late into the game i’m just saying one of my ideas of how weapons could’ve worked

weapons are there to be the thing that doesn’t change. that isn’t customizable

why?

there’s so many weapon skills too, it wouldn’t be fun to customize all of them

because not everyone wants to customize something, and it’s nice to have a path you can balance the game around because it’s static.

then u can choose not to

that’s implied with what he’s saying, you can choose to go mage and edit the skills there bassically, it doesn’t make sense in lore for you to be able to edit and change weapon skills too, you need lore explanations for this as weapon users are not magic users most the time and it’d be weird to make an exception for conjurers

ship hull decorations and wood carvings, also rework fishing to some extent because it’s kind of a buggy, archaic mess

i like the idea of ship hull decorations, what did you mean by wood carvings? like a new kind of skill kind of like woodworking? fishing i feel like is in need of a rework, it’s VERY ping and ms reliant and some people don’t have reliable servers for this or connections: it’s the same thing over and over, whether you get a legendary or normal fish you just get a more narrow window to react in (ping reliant ), that said there’s many other ways for fishing to have worked (other games use different minigames for fishing which could be put to use instead of clicking; even though it’s the traditional AA way, the game is in need of a UI update, a nice new way to fish, and some people need to investigate what’s causing this insane lag that makes the game unplayable, or unplayable after a while for alot of people ).

you didn’t know? this couldn’t have possibly been enizor, simply because enizor can not see, why do you think he’s chosen to be in idle spots the entirety of the journey? locked in a tower, stationed on a boat in the same exact spot? that said, enizor must be blind.

therefore he couldn’t have seen a group of little kids playing.

i meant wood carvins IN the hull, but not really 3d models, just like textures
