Happy Halloween! I know Iām posting this near its end (8 PM in my timezone), and where many people live itās already overā¦ But still, hereās a freaky story in the spirit of October.
This is one for all the folks waiting for Oracle and more Spirit Weapons to get added 
As soon as I saw in the updated lore doc that spirit energy can be used for āpermanent bodily alterations,ā I KNEW I had to apply this to one of my OCs. I am a huge fan of biomancy, and had a lot of fun writing out the fight scenes!
And of course, it only made sense for a story utilizing body morphing to be about corruption, and descent into something not yourself. This is gonna be a lot darker than what I would usually post (but Iāve only posted one other thing so you probably wouldnāt know, lol). This was a hard story to tell, and I put a lot of time into it.
The story is divided into parts for a more digestible read. You can take a break at any of the points, and easily jump back to it later.
Iām very open to critique and hearing what I can do better!

Characters
The protagonist is my main fileās Rival who I co-opted and accidentally turned into my favorite OC. She only ever uses one weapon and itās always a spear, plus she has lots of health, so I head-canon her as a Knight build.
The character Alexander Rumm belongs to my friend @death_iscoming89, and the rest of the characters are just OCs that Iāll let you see for yourself.

Closing Thoughts
I canāt believe itās already been a year and a half since my last story on the forums, Waltzing With Death. In all that time Iāve been writing a lot of non-AO fiction and continually approving my writing, and I hope it shows here!
I donāt plan to wait another year before I post again though, lol. In fact, I have two other AO stories in progress that will hopefully both be released in Novemberā¦ One of them heavily involves Rear Admiral Amelia, so be on the lookout for that! 
Once Iāve wrapped up those two stories Iāll probably go on another extremely long hiatus from AO writing to work on other projects. But Iāll pop back into the scene sometime in, I would assume, mid-to-late 2025.
