This looks sick!! any tips on building a vetex-esqe island? (generic quick things like stud size, textures, etc.) Thinking of taking a shot at it.

Sure, I can give some pointers on what I’ve sort of picked up.

  • Vet likes builders to use stud grids, I usually use 1 and .5.
  • Grass is usually 1 stud high.
  • Terrain is usually blocky and made to look more natural by rotating block parts and not using slopes.
  • Slopes are reserved more for pathways, buildings, and occasionally terrain.
  • Use block parts to mimic slops by rotating them.
  • Learn to use the align tool. It’s genuinely a lifesaver.
  • Plugins are your friend. The ones I use are Gapfill, ResizeAlign, MaterialFlip, and PartPicker.
  • Use islands in AO as a reference if you want ideas.
  • Trees can have size variations and color variations in their leaves.

Islands don’t really get rejected, they usually just sit in storage until they potentially get used.

But for sure if something doesn’t get used I will def post it.

if this were in the game, people would be so confused why Exiled and Minotaur are literally dead here, because they so are.

as if “no builders” was the subject and “arent permitted” saying that no builders weren’t allowed to share assets, but it was no, builders.
