Yes, we are well aware this is the only place vetex implements community ideas from
Remove the Arcane in Arcane Odyssey. 10/10 suggestion vetex would 100% agree as now the only builds that can ever exist are Strength, Weapons, and Strength-Weapon hybrids.
Truly an Odyssey.
(this is such a shitpost that I wrote but why not)
can we add the withered foxy jumpscare too?
And also make the roll affect it’s clash power
remove stat build locking
awakenings are no longer a thing and you just gain abilities based on your stats
240 of a pure stat automatically gives you the buff that would previously have counted as an awakening for that build
120 is 2 stats allows imbues to occur between those specific stats
At level 180 you could have both a pure build & hybrid build if compared to the current system [120 & 240]
Imbue stacking can be done, but it requires 120 to be reached in 3 different stats (lv 180 if perfect split, so close but so far), and every imbue needs to be taken from a different stat (unless the pure stat buff also adds an extra imbue, such as the assumed 2nd magic awakening, having that + other imbues would let you imbue 2 magics + 1 of whatever stats are at 120)
… how is this a bad thing, exactly? what am i missing?
idk
some ppl might just be too attached to the current system?
or thinking it is too late to change it
and there is a diff post for friend number 1 that didn’t last for very long, but i don’t think this would get that high up
Also possible balance issues the whole stat rework could end up causing (remember warlordvant)
Gems can now chip and shatter when you get hit by an attack. Since gemstones cannot be remelted down, you have to buy a new one and also recraft it again after every fight.
oh and also make gems 150x more expensive because gem monopoly
how can you monopolise something found in the dark sea
add a rare gem tax on gems found in the dark sea, so people naturally sell them higher in the auction market
Massively reduce the amount of hp and damage given by leveling up and replace them with offense and defence levels.
The attacker deals 20% less damage for every offense level below the target’s defence level, so having 5 more defence levels than the attacker’s offence will prevent their attacks from harming you completely. However, if the attacker has a higher offense level, they deal 30% more damage per level.
Power and defence gear stats are now less effective, but give you 1 offense level for every 50 power and 1 defence level for every 350 or so defence stats.
Blocking temporarily increases defence level by 2.
Shooting a target in the head with a gun or bow gives that attack +3 offense levels, ults gain +2 offense levels; power aura gives +1 offense level, defense aura gives +1 defence level; darkness-purging, dragonslaying, etc ignores 1 defense level for their respective targets.
I knew this sounded familiar, your profile description comfirmed for me lol
In the story you can’t leave the arena/area until you defeat the boss and remove getting XP upon dealing damage so you can’t level up until you beat them.
Jorund now has a V8 on his ship and he’s got severe roadrage.
I’d wish this was actually true ![]()
Naval combat isn’t even that difficult anymore
New endgame+!
NPCs now can individually grow stronger and train each day, fighting each other and also players in a consistantly changing world! By the help of DYNAMIC SIMULATION!!!
Let’s talk about NPCs’ growth
Game runs a simulation in which NPCs do stuff and interact with the simulated world
they have random traits, proficiency and reputation
whilelist the simulated world has preset traits, dangers, and most importantly: History
NPCs will choose specific paths depending on events they had witnessed or been a part of, and their path can be altered dynamically so other NPC or Player can affect what they choose to be in life let it be through talk, fight, or not directly through stuff like intimidation or some sort of events.
NPC can have variety of traits that affect their current path and previous paths, it can also affect path, shift it at certain conditions, so if NPC has trait of Kindness they are more likely to not become a fighter if NPC get’s to live a life in some place like Palo Town, however traits can be altered through events that can cause some traits to be shadowed by other traits, like trait of vengeance that can affect other traits turning non-fighter NPC into a fighter, it can be the opposite through a trait of PTSD which can turn fighter into a non-fighter NPC
Through that, NPCs still might not be able to accomplish anything in their life, here’s proficiency comes in place: Proficiency affects how high up NPC goes on their path, affecting other NPCs and making History (or altrering it, if that happends), it also can be affected by the help or it can also be suppressed, NPCs with high proficiency can reach highs that normal Players would not be able to, yet still there’s only one in a billion chance that they get to be on the level as strongest of the curse users…
And little about reputation - NPCs may have different association with some NPCs, like comparing some NPC as a fierce warrior whom never was defeated, or other one as a lucky coward that escaped death through out his whole life, reputation goes in couple of directions at the same time this way, it can be imagined as that one graph with “chaotic good” or “neutral neutral” or “lawful bad” etc.
Now a bit of how simulated world is built
Simulated world as said, has a preset
Islands, weather, kingdoms, towns and stuff is world’s traits
these traits have their own stats, so some island may have high stat of size which would mean that it’s more like that NPC may spend more time on that island since it takes more time to explore it, or not visit that island if they are trying to find specific item quickly
Towns and kingdoms also have a stat of population, economy, politics, strength, structure, technology and stuff like that (safety is part of most stuff anyway so i didnt included it)
And now about alterations and changes… so weather is that not consistent, right? and it can be altered and stuff, and so other traits can be altered and changed, even tho everything is preset stuff can change like economy, some island’s size, overall safety of entire seas, it can all be altered and changed, let it be by NPCs, Players, or even by other traits or even by themselfs!
Which means that sometimes there is Dangers that can highly affect traits of the world and overall NPCs’ interaction with it
So dangers can be presented as consequences of specific traits, like magic mis-use or wars, weather takes part of danger that it can become, being able to force alteration in structure of towns and kingdoms (destruction), however danger can be altered through actions like throwing clearsight potion into the sea to clear the fog, or making peace treaty between kingdoms to prevent wars, and all that can become an example to some or many, and here it comes the…
The History: so actions have its own drawbacks and aftermath and database will remember them and save it as part of the history of the world, NPCs through word of mouth, witnessing or experiencing the events can have their traits altered, have their path shift and thus affecting the world even more making even more history
Most actions can become an example, can be untold, or can be simply undocumented, so saving someone can be told by someone, however if that someone you saved was some figure that keeps themselfs a secret can force the event to not be told and not documented, which can play a role if some important item gets stolen for a thief to not be caught until they decided to sell it at blackmarket, which will spread rumors and stuff i am already getting bored of this stuff just think of all that as inserting a super realism into the game idfc
Now about how it works with the New Endgame+ Game:
Simulated NPCs can have various levels, builds and spawn at locations they are currently at in the simulated world, so some NPC can be in the dark sea in a fleet and have some chart that goes to Mimhere Island that Players or other NPCs can steal… if said chart doesn’t goes missing cause said holder of the Mimhere Island chart has a trait of butterfingers
NPCs can also sail on ships and boats, let it be being a captain, a crew member or simply just because they asked someone to be on the ship till they drop them on island they told them (taxi) and change positions respectuflly to current simulation
simulation can be altered dynamicaly as you remember, so attacking or just interacting with an NPC can make an effect with the simulation, let’s say you talk with them and throw a potion of luck V at them, they might get confused but accept such offering as they are on the journey to save their money to pay up the crippling dept they got from their ancestors constantly dying and not paying up dept that their whole family tree had built up,
oh, and also there’s no storyline for new endgame+ as simulation itself IS and storyline, so there ARE tyrants there ARE secret organizations and there ARE INDEED ARE the sacred tales of unseen treasure hidden at farlands and dark seas, let alonge the fact that simulation can mirror the main game through simply having preset of specific Character with specific traits on a preset similar to main game, so it MEANS you can witness all the events you couldn’t in main game’s storyline! Though only once since world is simulated dynamicly and can only be documanted by people whom played in specific time at specific places and stuff, however it can be resimulated through forcefuly shutting down by the developers to reset all progress of the New Endgame+ and begin it anew… Yet, future will refuse to change, fate is always preset no matter the code, prophecy is built through the understanding of it, cheats and tricks won’t take effect, as the world is always been preset all from the beginning…
… Aside from that New Endgame also let’s you be able to do wacky stuff like exploring islands that are created by NPCs (or by players) and visit newly formed kingdoms! Which can pose entire new gameplay and story for those who got bored of main game and want to see how the Arcane Odyssey’s story began and how it could’ve gotten if some things were changed, also about the future refused to change… not all things are tied to fate and stuff so ending of New Endgame+ of AO can be changed and stuff like that, as you can let the Order of Aesir do its evil stuff and let the world be doomed, or join Grand Navy and take over it creating new organization made to fight Order of Aesir and deal with criminality much more efficiently through somehow making new magic that basically makes you unable to lie to your higher ups, (or through some mind control but it’s more evil) and thus comes the end of my explaination on the New Endgame+ of Arcane Odyssey! Hope you would like to even enjoy the even simulated world that is yet to come to existance… oh sweet delicious dreams, sweet and delicious dreams of such sweet thoughts and dreams…
As a final note: It DOES make the New Endgame+ more realistic that the main game of AO, through making a simulated world and taking it to the New Endgame+ game world which lets players to witness events or even take part of them and making their own events, brining the realism to the new whole level… It also let’s basically everyone (NPCs, dragons, bears, grunts, Players and some random bird) to become either some insignificant thing or become an most important figure that the New Endgame+ simulation entry 17 had come across… You can call the New Endgame+ a living world inside a machine!
BONUS NOTE: be WISE to call the whole thing the New Endgame+ or else I will turn you into a potion of hurting the way you’ll hurt my feelings
now for examples of what can happen through the simulations!
(they might be too long to read)
example #1, heir of hatred
So there’s a guy of the comically evil kingdom that terrorizes neigboring seas for couple of decades, and lets call this guy Jack, so this kingdom is ruled by a queen with a quite powerful curse and she is so evil that she forces her subordinates to wear silly costumes and so one day queen saw Jack and forced him to wear maid costume, however Jack had a the the… the thte whatever the sword that takes the curse and so Jack stabbed the queen when she was distracted and so Jack got the curse, and like that Jack got into rampage, flew here and there, destroying his own kingdom in the process alongside the kingdom that currently there was war with, stuff stuff happend and later on Jack encountered a very experienced warrior on his way and so they fought and couple of dudes also joined, one of them had a curse and other was a berserker, yet even thou Jack was outnumbered and overwhelmed he through sheer hatred awakened and became a furry, and killed them all or smth, then later on Jack killed bunch of people and strong individuals and later on destroyed entire planet, while also successfuly surviving.
The end of simulation entry 12, Jack also somehow appeared in simulation entry 13 so vetex had to patch that
example #2, excuse me sir
i’ll be short with this one
so one day there was a man called michael had his wife killed by the evil curse user of a powerful kingdom and so michael seeked revenge even thou he never would receive any power boosts or anything
there were people who also were seeking vengence against that curse user (ok lets call that curser patria so no confusion would be made)
so that group is still not of good sorts and also is quite evil with thug-like people, michael is also a thug and stuff
one day they got to the evidence of patria’s evilness and so they decided to blackmail patria, which led patria alongside other powerful members of the kingdom overthrowing the king
the castle is almost goes into siege, yet michael decides to face patria himself expecting defeat
“excuse me sir” is what both patria and michael hear and see someone in a hood standing until they reveal themselfs and reveal thet its them who did the things as “patria” as they were both looking like each other, so they both fought each other while michael left the castle, later on false patria (one who did the things, eviler one who killed michael’s wife) also leave the castle injured, then the soldiers and forces of kingdom (without king) attack patria.exe and yet patria.exe still alive and then michael approaches patria.exe and smacks him with arcanium, killing patria.exe
then michael goes to kill his group since they had curses and stuff and michael dies as his last partner kills him with a dagger as michael ragebaited him to do it.
The end of one of stories of simulation entry 3.
example #3, the mirror
Chris lived a normal live until one day he’s been controlled by something, it forced him to walk here and there and seemingly didn’t do anything else, Chris’ couldnt control and he tried to fight, yet troubled to do so, one day he’s been called for an adventure, yet even if Chris didnt want to agree due to current state, he noded, going on an adventure facing various pirates and bandits, fighting various beasts and stuff, yet Chris for the most part couldnt take real his own action and be a part of it all, only sometimes Chris gained back control of his body only and due to the fact that what controlled him did not do anything like eating or doing other stuff than fighting and interacting, Chris had no time to do anything than just eating rations to at least survive a bit more in this state.
One day adventure stopped at a peculiar island with various magic stuff, party he was part of decided to split up and explore the island where they faced various games provided by some wizards on that island, while Chris gotten into a far part of the island where he saw a mirror, Chris’ body approached the mirror, Chris moved in the mirror while his real body didn’t, body drew out the sword preparing a stance against the mirror, strangely Chris’s perspective changed and he appeared in the mirror, seeing “himself” in the real world, Chris stepped out of the mirror, his real body didnt change stance and glanced at him empty, Chris drew out the sword and gets in the stance, his hands are shaking, the “chris” attacks and Chris blocks the attack, fight has began… Up to you to wonder how it ended, as mirror is just a mirror, let it be that real Chris could win against the “chris” or “chris” becoming the real Chris, will a mirror still reflect the real Chris? A reflection killing the faker, would that mean reflection would cease its life? Maybe Chris had no chance at victory, only to either accept fate or take “chris” with him to hell.
The end of one of the stories from simulation entry 17.
btw some people already told about New Endgame+ simulations like simulation entry 6 which was about dark sea and atlanteans getting into war seas and all that atleantean infection stuff (order of aesir done their shenanigans again..! heheh), it’s pretty well documented so you won’t miss it, community decided to call this simulation “Abyss Sea”, a fitting name! It’s cool
did i larp well? or did i overdone some stuff?
I also believe that simulation occurred during October? It was an awesome simulation, I’d love to see it return in a permanent form eventually, it was a pretty challenging one
while this whole thing is basically impossible with the current technical limitations, but i actually love this idea
my main file gonna create an entire pirate group of their own after figuring out how to create some new stuff just for their group
all profits from auction go directly to me
Your greed sickens me
prometheus acrimonies now have a default value of 100 galleons
