The Arcane Universe is... pretty bleak ngl

Regarding classes, let’s put it like this.
You have two knights in armor and swords.
Their ability in swordsmanship is equal, but one is also versed in close range/unarmed combat.
Which do you think is more likely to win a duel?

probably the guy with martial art skills since he can disarm the other knight and beat him up

so I guess hybrids are just… better afterall

I feel like that’s not intended to happen but we should wait and see for Vetex to answer (if he does at all)

yeah good point. but we also bring liberation (i think. we (or moreso Iris) destroyed Ravenna’s mines and we helped out Maria’s prisoners) so idk :person_shrugging: i’ll settle with justice though

do we know Roger’s end goal? idk if it’s been said or not

beat the corsairs and become king of the pirates

The thing is that in lore there are no classes.
So nothing is stopping a mage from learning more about martial arts or swordsmanship or whatever.
Is it gonna improve his ability in using his magic power?
No, probably not.
But it’s another card in his hand to play according to the situations.
Like in life, it’s not like only one aspect is gonna decide everything in every situation.
TPO is always relevant.

Let’s say that you are a mage in the AU and confront another mage of similar level.
Both of you fight for your life and end up exhausted and without magic energy.
Now, on your belt you have a pistol.
If you had practised marksmanship, you could shoot the other wizard, without waiting that both of you regain your magic.

The main point is this situation:
If this doesn’t work, I have another way.
It’s obvious that if the first way works, you don’t have to worry about anything else.
If you have a surefire way of doing something, no point of searching for another way, no?

he wants to pick a fight with the equivalent of the 7 Warlords and then become number 1??? i fucking respect this guy now more than I did before (pretty high bar to surpass)

officially my favorite AO character with ZERO competition. i hope we’ll see a whole lot more of him later

Isn’t he epic?
Best AU character ever.

If there was the option of joining his crew I wouldn’t have thought twice about it.

i wish we could join him and act sort of freelance (like Ace on Whitebeard’s crew or Luffy’s Grand Fleet in accordance to him)

if that’s never an option then i guess there’s always the Juraserva (if they’re a PvE thing i pray they are)

Yeah, a pity we can’t join him.
But at least we have the next best thing:
Being his friendly rival, in a Roger/Whitebeard way.

THE BATTLES BETWEEN US WILL BE LEGENDARY!!!

From what I can gather they’re about the same as mages just using a different method of using their magic. Don’t know how this works with savants or vitality hybrids, but since the ceiling seems to be pretty high for both magic and spirit I don’t think it makes too much of a difference between mages, oracles, and hybrids.

I swear this man can’t go one week without changing the lore

Which part are you talking about, cause if you’re talking about what I just posted this isn’t that new nor did it really change anything as far as I’m aware. Just kinda gave clarity.

I know it’s not new but I’d just like to state that

F in chat for typos regular

I just hope he responds before wiping you off the face of the forums

Bro pinged vetex :skull:

look man I’m just really curious

there is the seven seas, it ravaged what was left of the 3 seas, SOME are still there

the peacekeeper destroys all* of the curses and the ao mc does their thing and now the world is peaceful. cut to the space race and what’s this? there’s a strange white cube on the surface of the moon? better GRAB IT and carry it back home

Keep in mind this is the world of Arcane Odyssey, and not the real world. With the presence of magic users, strength enthusiasts, and weapon masters, some of these populations make up for their low citizenship numbers with small powerhouses as previously mentioned. These people are likely considered weapons of mass destruction, and I’d assume a lot of these wars really rely on their powerhouse mages/berserkers/warriors to continue on.

It’s similar to how pretty much every single Kingdom needs a Curse user to thrive. It’s safe to assume most of the wars end when all of/majority of the mages/berserkers/warriors of either side of the battle have been defeated. With that being said, I think the meaning of “genocide” might be a bit lighter compared to what he have in the real world. What I mean to say is, a war in Arcane Odyssey might consist of a couple thousand fighters, compared to a war in the real world consisting of tens of thousands- sometimes even hundreds of thousands.
