The Devil’s Swordsman - Part 10
A World of Magic Story
Dragomir laid gasping for air as he laid next to debris from the building he collided with. The acid began to burn his left hand, but he attempted to not think about it to help ease the pain he was in. Captain Rust then held up a poster of the swordsman next to his face.
“Yep, this seems about right! Huh, now that I’m looking at it, your facial structure looks much better on this photo then your current face now. I think we need to fix that.” The captain then raised his fist and punched Dragomir with a powerful blow, making his head drop to the ground.
“I love my job! Okay soldiers, let’s take him away!”
“NO!!!” A large scream from the crowd was heard. There appeared Danny stepping in front of the group of soldiers, blocking their path towards Dragomir. Following suite, Sammy went behind Danny, both wanting to save the swordsman.
“He may be a bad man whose done very bad things, but he helped save us. When our parents abandoned us, we were lost in Ironport, until this man showed up! We probably wouldn’t be standing without him! Doesn’t that matter at all, he saved both me and my sister, DOESN’T THAT MEAN ANYTHING!?!” The soldiers froze as they weren’t sure what to do. Captain Rust then began to stand in.
“Oh children, what innocence you have. You have clearly become plagued by the mind of a criminal, and that’s no good at all. This man that you adore so much has committed atrocities throughout his life you wouldn’t even dream about!” The two siblings then looked back at their hero, who supposedly all this time was a villain.
“What he’s done now doesn’t change what he has done in the past, and it doesn’t make it any right either. You see children, this man is a monster, a psychopath, and a demon. No need to check through a list because it’s clear he’s ‘All of the Above’ based off of the atrocities he’s committed! Now step aside, he chose his path, and now, he must pay for it!” The captain the looked down at the swordsman with pure disgust. Sammy and Danny froze in fear as they didn’t know what to do or say. The soldiers put the handcuffs onto Dragomir and escorted him out of the town.
Captain Rust then learned into the now arrested swordsman’s ear. “The Devil isn’t going to be so keen on this. You should know to always keep a deal when made with The Devil himself.”
Dragomir then immediately turned to face the captain. “How do you know about him?!” The captain then looked surprised as if he wasn’t sure what Dragomir was talking about.
“First he destroys a whole town and now he spouts nonsense! Get this man out of here!” Before the soldiers took him away, the captain whispered in his ears for one last time. “The Devil has demons in many places.” As Dragomir left in shock, the captain smirked and waved to him goodbye. A soldier then walked up to the man, carrying a sword that he found on the destroyed site.
The captain then looked at the sword with dismay. “The Oathkeeper eh, I guess he was pretty generous this time around.”
The soldier then look confused. “Who are you talking about, sir?”
“Oh nothing, I’ll take this with me as evidence against Cutlass, you just go ahead and help with the damages of the town. Update me on Silvers condition when you get back to the tower.”
“Yes, sir!” As the soldier ran away back to the scene, the blade shined as it laid in the captain’s hands. Rust then began to laugh.
