Thoughts on 1.16 balance doc?

i’m ngl, i get why it’s being nerfed since atk speed is still really strong, but atp it only starts to get strong once you have around 250 of it
i feel like a formula change would be better than just repeatedly nerfing its efficiency bc it feels like it does absolutely nothing even at 100 invested

don’t forget that enchants and the speed that sw gives are being nerfed! oh and then there’s the massive magic speed nerf, and your getting a magic damage nerf as well!

clearly your build is the massive issue, not the 200 size magma and earth users which do 300 damage a hit!

Full stacking regen effects just makes you Hakari without the ability to dish out the same damage as others. If you want to nerf regen, then DoT statuses could be used as a way to slow it down, or it could weaken over time (Recovery Status Regen and if you really want the substat too). Say, 50% or 75% effectiveness for either one. If its’s 50% or something then that 50 Regen/sec slows down to probably closer to 30 - 35 or something. I probably should ask if that Regen was In-Combat or Out of Combat, I’m assuming In-Combat though which is kinda crazy.

you bring up a good point though, atk speed is op mostly bc of the magic atk speed scaling bug so since they’re fixing that i don’t see why they’re continuing to nerf atk speed

like even with 300 atk speed my weapon attacks feel sluggish as hell compared to the patch before where i only had 160 atk speed

i used to be an attack speed fanboy but maturing is realizing both attack speed and attack size are terrible for the game and awful to balance. its good that it’s being nerfed again. a lot of attack speed makes you almost unpunishable while attack size makes the game braindead

I remember a thread about whether or not people wanted an Attack Speed or Attack Size meta, and people who preferred Attack Size said that Attack Speed builds can’t be reacted to. Honey, I have a cluckin’ LIGHT ATTACK SPEED Paladin and I need a damn Speed Aura to get any attacks like that (even then, it’s mainly my Javelin spell). Yes, I’m also heavily investing into Agility, but the point still stands unless if full Attack Speed is something to fear, and it likely isn’t with the concept of diminishing returns on gear stats. If anybody has a video of something like that, show me and maybe I’ll lighten up on Attack Size being putrid.

Max Atk Spd isnt changing for me, unless Intensity becomes more useful than it somehow and even then. .

(To which, Light Warlock having the most total amount of Atk Spd feels like a crime in the Max Atk Spd variety. buff Light Arcanium hat pls.)

And i have 0 Power on my Main File so it’s either i’m bumping up Atk Spd, Agility, or Regen.

much of the “filler” you’re referring to is armor changes, which will make PvP actually bearable to get into because you won’t be required to use sunken pieces for literally every viable build with defense. I swear, if people actually go through and read the balance document along with reasonings they’ll understand why bteam does what they do.

That is completely fine. I’m moreso talking about things that hardly affect PvP. Why are treasure charts, climbing speed, and base size unlocks bring changed? And aside from those non-PvP related things, why are certain issues, such as the fact that uppercut has been broken since it was added, so low priority? (can you imagine if blast suddenly stopped working?)

The balance team isn’t only supposed to balance PvP, their job is to balance the game, which means features that are generally not worth doing are buffed to be worth doing. Base size unlocks are REALLY bad for some skills, which makes progression less fun because you have to use what actually gets damage.

Vetex knows it’s bugged, he just hasn’t fixed it for some reason

we got good stuff like surge nerfs

but then we get the atk speed nerf, why? we have AoE warrior that is meta, not the atk speed meta, mages and atk speed are bugged, atk speed already takes so much of ur build so why even nerf it more

i have 390 atk speed and i still barely reach 50% (i have 48.8%) any more atk speed and i need to sacrifice my power or defense, i already need to run drawback so i actually deal enough dmg
