I feel like we could get an Excalibur (or something close to it) as a spirit weapon since Arthur the Cursebeard is AO’s equivalent to King Arthur. Though it would have worked better in Arcane Adventures since Arthur is in the Seven Seas. It’d imply that he lost it somehow which would be weird.

Everybody had some good ideas so I wanted to make my own list for funsies. I thought it would be cool if some spirit weapons were related to popular greek myths/stories/items. It would also be nice if spirit weapons aren’t just weapons and can have actual supportive/supplementary uses since most of my suggestions here are focused on that

Midas’ Touch -

  • A pair of golden gauntlets/gloves blessed by Dionysus (do spirit weapons effects HAVE to be related to the domain of the god? the original myth was Dionysus but obviously his domain doesn’t include turning things to gold, so it could be changed to Hephaestus or something)
  • Allows the user to turn targets into “gold” by passing a damage threshold. Basically applies ironskin but gold, so maybe less damage resistance and more slowness since gold is more malleable yet denser than iron
  • Probably should have a short duration and exhaustion period so it can’t be abused

Unconditional Love -

  • A bow blessed by Eros
  • Applies the love effect if the arrows deal a certain amount of damage, similar to Midas’ Touch
  • Also like Midas’ Touch have an exhaustion period after?

Icarus’ Folly -

  • A pair of wings blessed by Hermes (maybe? he’s got the winged helmet and winged sandals already so it sorta checks out)
  • Basically function like the sky skates from AA. Will also have a durability bar so if it runs out the wings will melt and you fall

Golden Fleece -

  • A fleece blessed by Apollo (he’s a god of medicine/healing as well)
  • When equipped, grants the user passive regeneration. Takes up a weapon slot and doesn’t have any other abilities to not make it too OP

Anaklusmos (this one’s just for fun, had to include the other GOATED greek myth series somehow) -

  • A sword blessed by Poseidon that gives it powers similar to the Sunken Sword
  • Wouldn’t pack as much of a punch nor have as many skills but in return doesn’t take up a weapon slot due to its transformation abilities allowing it to be used directly from the hotbar/backpack

Some of these could probably just function as normal tools/weapons too

This would be funny af i got no idea wth it would do.

Theater mask, you mean like that classic one you hold up to your face through a handle?

Now thats one interesting choice

Shipwheel blessed hy possidon, you just summon a whole ass warship made of spirit energy and water lol

I was thinking more along the lines of these ones, the classic ancient Greek masks of comedy and tragedy

Blessed by Dionysus, the greek god of entertainment.

…a little unsure what magic this associates you with… perhaps like… light and shadow? equinox?
