Some random shit about sine waves I read about today.
The sound usually[1] used in audio to censor profanity is a sine wave with a frequency of exactly 1 kilohertz[2]. In the United States, the EAS[3] attention tone consists of two sine waves of 853 Hz and 963 Hz, designed to be as unpleasant to the human ear as possible.
