Why does light magic not have healing properties

fr (must be at least 3 characters)

I mean yeah equinox is what you get when you mix light and shadow

but I think thats sorta like saying annihilation is the combination of matter and antimatter when it’s more the process the two undergo rather than a combination of the two

adding to this… there is a lot of nuance to what magic someone would be born with, light magic can be comforting and graceful, but we could also think of it as being overbearing, and deceitful (with the way light allows us to physically see things around us).

even poison magic could be utilized with good intentions. if you think of it as a magic that can manipulate chemicals rather than exclusively cause harm, then you can imagine it being practically used for medical anesthetics, or even antivenom

this is kinda based off what was said in the lore encyclopedia trello so all of this should be taken with a grain of salt, but i just really like the idea that someone wielding literally poison magic could still be very well-intentioned because no element is inherently “good” nor “evil”

It doesn’t really make sense for it to be random and for it to be based off personally would’ve made sense if it came from the soul instead of the mind imo.

Never said it was both random and based off of personality. Minds being personaility based was what the AA comics threw in, but those aren’t canon so I’m unsure if that’s really how it works. Other than that, there’s not much to go about how a mind gets that magic other than what I’d presume is chance.

Alright ty now I’m curious ;-;

ehhh

death magic?

a death mage could be a very kind, comforting person who uses their “dark” magic to aid those who are already at the end of their life, by helping them feel safe and valued, despite this being the end of it all for them. there’s a lot of really good fictional depictions of “death” personified as a benevolent being, who eases the passed and helps them make the transition to whatever comes after death

OR you could have a death magic user who is very noble and puts great honor in fair combat, taking immense pride in being able to take on opponents powerful enough not to fear death itself

walk into the sun, what would you get? healing? no, fcking sunburn thats what idiot

with that logic phoenix magic should burn me but it heals me somehow

BECAUSE ITS PHOENIX???

YOU KNOW??? THE LITERALLY IMMORTAL BIRD???

okay sorry for screaming idk why i did that, just felt like doing so

its because phoenix magic is literally just the phoenix fruit from one piece. so its magical properties were kinda stolen. thats about it.

if it were more phoenix-like there would be a rebirth feature, but that would be too op

magic isnt the literal thing it is, its similar

remember, they were named by humans, and humans are dumb arent omniscient

what else would you name a healing fire magic

still, in mythology, phoenixes dont have a “healing ability” they just revive when they die

so something like light magic, which is associated with holiness and healing could have healing properties

thats where the question comes from

idk, healing fire magic?

yeah thats the problem

its sucks

it also doesnt help your case that:

“Apollo has been recognized as a god of archery, music and dance, truth and prophecy, healing and diseases, the Sun and light, poetry, and more.”

healing and light… hmmmmmmmm

and why do you think life is a light-exclusive mutation

and because, as Vetex himself stated, mutation amplifies a certain aspect of the magic… you could technically say that light does in fact, have healing properties… just, barely noticable normally

reviving is just the ultimate heal ability

no it isn’t, at least not in the au
