Alright look, I’m not gonna try to ignore my own flaws, but why is everything a problem?
I can blame myself for some things, and so can all of you, but what is with the sheer quantity of backlash that I get for the tiniest things?
There’s been like five topics in a row that I’ve made where there’s just the littlest thing wrong and then it’s just “You idiot, you absolute waste of space, you goddamn piece of inhuman trash, this is why you suck.” like, it’s just inconsiderate!
Exhibit A: May I interest you in an Arcane Odyssey planetary view?
I decided I was gonna get a picture of an empty blue planet and stick some AO landmarks on there for funsies, but apparently they’re too small and don’t line up with some random diagram that I’ve never seen before.
Like who cares? I’m fine with you telling me that “I always imaged them bigger” or something, but the additude, as if I’ve attempted to make a definitive map with no innaccuracies to everybody else’s expectations.
Exhibit B: Things that Should be Magics and Aren't / Vice Versa
I started off this topic by listing some things that were either very oddly specific to be considered elements in the Arcane Universe. Not necessarily invalidating their coolness, just saying “that’s a little odd”.
So many people acted, like, deeply offended, as if I insulted their favorite magic and called it stupid.
I argued that sun and flare both sounded pretty similar, being based on fire that comes off the sun, but apparently I missed the memo that Sun is the whole orbital body instead of just the fire now, to severe backlash.
People just expect you to know everything as if it’s not impossible.
Exhibit C: Skyhall Storyline Predictions
This one seemed hard to mess up. Just a topic where people talk about what they think will happen in the full release story, topped with a “i have a theory” meme.
Then the first four comments were about how my guesses were wrong.
And then nobody else proposed possibilites.
Exhibit J because we like to keep it a little bit silly: Why does Captain Maria have water manipulation?
This is a slightly different example, because I made an obvious mistake.
First of all shoutout to

So this one actually started out a bit promising. Just some folks joshing about Capitatin Marya, if you will.
And then people start making fun of me. A lot.
What’s the big party-pooper mistake? I didn’t look outside of the arena when looking for a magic circle to Captain Maria’s invincibility aura.
Granted, with the tentacles, I was just being a bit ignorant to assume they’d be in the arena, but apparently, according to the folks on that thread, the invincibility shield has a magic circle outside of the ship. I’m not sure who would even look there.
This is all a big problem, really. I can’t be the only one who just can’t catch a break, and it’s annoying.
Let this be a message for all forum users, shape up. Some of you are alright but others of you are just mean.
