guilds will probably be more likely to go after already captured islands (either for fun, to stop another guild from rising, or maybe they’ll add a bonus for it), so you’ll just get attacked still
This is the idea i’ve been hoping would replace rking for infamy. That way all sides would win.
Who doesn’t love some dumb forum drama
It’s fun when it’s not directed towards you specifically.
i feel like all of the arguing is getting kind of pointless. you’ve already showcased your points and received part of the community’s opinion on them, so i wouldn’t keep pushing.
Yeah, that’s why I don’t start it for no reason
it’s not pointless, we know it doesn’t really matter. But it funs to argue
Before suggestions closed, I’m pretty sure multiple non-tester suggestions were accepted by vetex. You can verify this urself in #suggestions:accepted.
It makes perfect sense for him to only take suggestions from testers as they’re the only ones who have firsthand experience with the game at the moment. Once the game is open to everyone it’s only natural that suggestions will open up again.
Vet’s Trello/patch notes are often extremely transparent with how things work. If there isn’t info on it about something, there’s a fat chance that it simply hasn’t been developed yet. Either that or it’s a part of the game that’s specifically being kept under wraps (i.e. story-related content).
A choice to do what? It was their decision to try and finish a broken game that the creator had made clear that he had no intent on continue. Vetex has no association with AR of of course he’d make a distinction between which parts of the lore were canon or not?
And in the end.
he was right.
Vetex be typing. Be prepared!
Yeah I remember seeing that message while scrolling and when I saw vetex’s response I realised he predicted it
so I should’ve kept working on an unpopular game just to appease you? The only MMORPG game I’ve “ditched” in the past 6 years has been arcane adventures, which was broken by Roblox and is getting a sequel which is basically the same game but better. I just don’t understand why the ditching game thing is an argument point anymore. Wom+AO has already been in development for over 3 years
When WOM still had suggestions opened, I read through ALL of them. If it wasn’t a good idea, I didn’t add it, plain and simple. Some ideas ARE good, but just don’t fit the game or are too big and unimportant of a thing to add. If you make a genuinely good suggestion when the game is released, it will be added. You just sound like you made 1 suggestion and are salty it didn’t get added and now cause of that “i dont listen to anything the community says”
uh then maybe wait to complain until the game is out? You’re nitpicking ideas and how things sound in your head without waiting to see how they actually are in-game, it just comes off as negative
I’m really confused why this infamy change is such a heated topic. By making infamy gain only through captured islands, you still promote PvPing guild versus guild, the EXACT same way that it works on world of magic. The only difference is, it only happens between guilds who actually want to fight, and you can’t just chase and kill a random kid with a guild icon over their head. Why would this system be worse, I’m genuinely curious why people are so outraged over it
Bro what it has literally been said multiple times that WoM will be kept open on a different place than AO. This is really what you’re mad about, wtf?
Don’t get me wrong WoM was a nice concept and would have turned out nearly as great as AO, but why waste my time on it if I can make AO? How does that count as ditching a game if its the same game but better in every category
about this, I’ve noticed that most of vetex’s accepted suggestions are either “add this little qol thing” or “add this animation pack that I’ve already fully animated myself”
because when suggestions were still open for WoM, it was more important to add content and already planned features, not community suggested features. WoM would have turned out nearly as great as AO with what I personally had planned (all of what is in AO would have been in it except for the story and map) but for some reason people think I don’t know how to design a game and were mad I wasn’t looking to them on how to make it better. Basically people just weren’t patient enough to see how the game would have panned out
As someone who has always loved trying my hand at offering suggestions for games, when allowed, this made my day
That’s not my complaint. But admittedly yes I would’ve liked to see AAs ending.
I doubt that. Even with the trust level add on theres a shit ton of suggestions in that category. I doubt you read ALL of them that sounds inhuman.
Not how I wanted to sound but yes I disagree with your opinion on the fishing mechanism. It’s a very uninteresting activity which sucks because I know there’s a mechanic that would make it
more enjoyable.
I did that for deepwoken. I got extremely disappointed and im worried this game might go down the same path.
Because island capturing is now the only way to gain infamy as far as everyone knows. You should easily be able to see the problem with that.
The fuck? When did you say that? I never heard you say that until now.
Its meant to be a laid back activity that requires next to no brain power, having to do a minigame or something every time you catch a boot or small fish would be stupid
good thing I know what I’m doing then. I’ve been doing this since I was 11 or 12 years old and its all I’ve ever known dude, I’ve said this before but this game is my masterpiece and basically my life’s work. I WANT you to expect greatness from it
I just asked why people are outraged over it so no I don’t see the problem with it. Like I said, it still promotes PvP in the same way infamy kills do, just that you only PvP people who actually want to be involved. I’m really interested to hear why some people are so mad about this, is it really just because you loved RKing? Cause you can still do that if you want, nothing is stopping you besides bounty hunters and the grand navy
I mean all is an exaggeration, but yes there were days I would sit and look through 50+ suggestions at a time, even ones that had very low upvotes. There just really wasn’t many good ones or they were way too broad and went against my vision for the game
