Probably, I just thought since it was more of an afterlife it would be unassociated with the earth
I mean, it’s as much in the sky as Tartarus is below the ground.
The fact that our best window into vetex’s thought process is whenever he is mentally done does not bode well with me.
True, my thought process is that since Greek mythology is for the most part true in the au, space in a sense would be the more “unrealistic” type of thing. Where things like stars are really just honorable people put up there and things can just exist above the earth in the sort of void of existence
it puts the canonicity of Aether in question.
I wonder if Vetex knows that he can make an original universe that just happens to have Prometheus and shit
i reckon its a situation kinda similar to the american revolution (the gravy being the british in this example) where the gravy are so preoccupied with other stuff that they havent been pooling enough resourses to take the war seriously
either that or outside forces are assisting the corsairs (assassins)
No, it doesn’t, and that’s why I’ve lost much of my excitement for this game. I know things can improve, but I hate feeling like I can’t trust that they will because of how the game’s development has been handled.
I need to be proven wrong. It feels like the general community that still follows and cares about the game is experiencing apathy instead of excitement. I think that’s why, outside of Patreon supporters and testers, the overall atmosphere feels so toxic and grim.
The trust that should have been built up during early access has instead been constantly eroded due to mismanaged expectations, constant backpedaling on promises, and a general lack of positive community engagement.
I’m sorry, but I had to say this. It’s honestly been really hard to get excited for this game lately.
I feel like its been like this since the very release. Especially when new people started coming. Maybe it is just my conservative view over the situation, but I cannot remember anything similar during WoM days, even despite the fact that WoM’s developing seemed less productive than what we have now.
By saying this I mean that the problems are coming from both sides:
-
The pampered community (This is due to the emergence of games that can give more, thereby raising the bar for all other developers).
-
New Players that are not used to AO’s management (Or to be more exact: Their hate towards the game, that breeds more hate when they discuss it with people, who haven’t played AO before).
-
Regular Players that didn’t accept changes. I can feel this factor myself, since I started playing in 2020, but semi-quit after AO’s release until I managed to adapt to the new game and its rules.
-
Some systems like “Leaderboard” and “Bounty\Fame Hunting” are engaging people into more agressive playstyle, slowly transforming community.
-
The Dark Sea and other mechanics that bring a huge impact on player’s time spent in the game. It is not okay, when you meet a mechanic that is fully random and luck based, but also takes a lot of time from the player. It should be either way only luck based or only time spent based, cuz those things are actually act the same and I haven’t seen any good combinations of these two.
-
There are a lot of “half measures” mechanics that weren’t completely done. For example I can mention huge build customization, but we saw like 25% of its true potential at maximum. Due to this fact, we are forced to use what is effective and not what we would like to use. I want to be a Lightning Paladin, but any Water Paladin will be simply better until we get the Poseidon’s spirit weapons. (And this problem has two origins: 1. Game being in early access. 2. Vetex trying to hug all mechanics without being able to finish any of them)
As you can see some of the problems come from AO’s management and development style, but some are brought by players. There is no good or evil here, everyone put their own brick into this wall of madness. But still there are people, who tries to enjoy game and accept it for what it is. This gives me the hope that this situation still can change to the better.
I didn’t really explain what I was replying to. You are right, people lost their trust, but we should not forget that we still have power to influence things around, but unfortunately… in the end we use it for mass-hate, instead of guiding new players, helping eachother and trying to find a compromise that will suit both - Vetex and the community.
Like really, remember people reaction to classes name change. Before trying to change anything, they just exploded with hate. And it was too late before they understood.
I feel like this community (including Vetex at some point) has the minimum understanding of eachother and no willing to negotiate.
vetex remove lb please and replace it with AA rep!!! i beg of you!!!
gg, skyhall is a whole planet
wait so this means Prime Theos is the strongest character in the verse
if Prime Theos > Peacekeeper
Then by definition, Prime Theos > Arthur bc Arthur < Durza + Zeus and Peacekeeper > Durza + Zeus, so if Prime Theos > Peacekeeper then Prime Theos is stronger than Arthur
And this also confirms Mage Peak > Curse User peak
Arthur is confirmed to be the strongest known character
also bonus: Arthur’s way stronger than PK
also also: just this thread in general, which directly confirms that Prime Theos would not be able to beat Cursebeard Top 10 characters
Another victory for my goat Cursebeard, the statement man
The strongest man to ever live… Statementsbeard, he who offscreened the gods. The man who stands alone on top of the world as the Glazed One.
im not so sure about that ( )
morock is the strongest man to ever man.
If Cursebeard is the glazed one, Morock is the exalted, beautiful, fertile, strongest, elegant, graceful, prestigious, pious, merciful, and just one.
