Seems a bit sudden to me.
Average suggestion quality has always been crap. That’s why we have votes and ratings to help filter out the few good ideas.
I understand if vetex doesn’t think the recent suggestions have been useful/relevant to AO, but I don’t see much harm in leaving the category open and letting the filter do its thing. If 99% of suggestions are crap, that means there’s 1% worth keeping the category open for.
