Post all the QoL suggestions in this thread

Why wasn’t I told this thread existed before? Aight, brace yourselves, here they all come.

PvP toggle should not affect secondary effects of certain potions

The idea came from this game discussion topic: PvP toggle was a blessing. Everybody loved its addition, and the opinion of those who didn’t doesn’t matter and shouldn’t ever be heard spoken. But, what was the problem with potions? Bleeding potions, when thrown into the sea, summon a shark of any kind, up to even the White Eyes. This had two uses - in PvP as a retreat option or a deliberate sabotage of another player, and in PvE as a fast and relatively safe way to grind shark drops. The firs…

Crafted Quartz should override the imbuement colours, but not effects

Alright, the previous suggestion was said to be far too long for others to read, here’s a shorter one. Crafted Quartz is currently pointless to use by anybody but Warrior Have you all ever cooked several Quartz crystals together? You get those from the Dark Sea, and I heard not many players are frequent visitors there, but this isn’t what this topic is made to solve. [QuartzNoImbue] These are the Silent Blades - one of several weapons that can both be used by Hybrids and have a Quartz socke…

Player-Snaring Weather Events should have a failsafe release timer

[SunkenPlayers] Alright, I originally planned to ponder about Weapons’ route-exclusive gear today, but I got snatched by a colossal whirlpool that spawned right on top of me, so I’m making this one instead. Certain weather events that are able to incapacitate and control players lack a failsafe in case the process takes too long. Take the today’s example. I was stuck down there, mashing the escape button to no avail, since the difficulty of escaping the whirlpool scales with its size - and …

Repair Kits should be able to be put in a pouch slot

I can’t believe I seriously need to make this suggestion… Damaged and Ruined Armour mechanic has made its way into the game, yay… And, surprisingly, every concern the playerbase had after it was announced in the patchnotes came true, except one. Repair Kits don’t completely invalidate the mechanic - they make it worse for some people. You heard this right - if you use a repair kit on a weaker device, you can lose your entire Dark Sea run on the spot. Sounds weird? It is. I will explain. Intera…

A (rather surprisingly) small list of changes to Dragons

[dragonrealnoclickbait] With the update being out for a few days, most of the AO playerbase, including myself, have experienced fighting the Dragons across many levels of the Dark Sea. So, how bad was it? Surprisingly, the dragons themselves are great! With the previous records, we really did not expect that. Almost every problem the dragons have isn’t their fault. So, yeah, many thanks to our Developers, you cooked. The dragons are actual raid bosses, difficult, but beatable. The devs are ke…

Improvements to newer players' exploration experience

AO has been updating, and thus more and more Generation 6 players are joining the game. I frequent the Bronze Sea, and I often see the poor guys on their sailboats suffer from things that don’t seem fair even to us, level 175 players. And, speaking of level 175, the advanced people may benefit from these changes too, as to reduce the annoyance factor. NPC Ships’ Targeting. Those pirates may have one eye covered with a patch, but they do still possess a large detection radius. The Bronze Sea doe…

A fix to bounty players being forced to not play the game for 15 minutes after they die

I got to see this post a while ago, and I agree that the mechanic is too unfair and annoying. Despite many people in that topic’s replies not being very pleasant, the guy’s got a point. When a bounty player dies, they’re forced into an unskippable 15 minute cutscene of the execution, while fame players respawn normally with no issues. Consistency in games is important. While bounty is considered a “high risk - high reward” path, the execution is just too much of a “risk”. However, the very fa…

I have more suggestions, but those aren’t exactly QoL, so I didn’t put them here.
@Quake This is a big one, so good luck.
