Hey, this is Cryonical . Welcome back to another anchor of The Odyssey Feed! Due to the addition of awakenings this anchor, we’ve got a whole lot to cover! Without further ado, let’s dive right on in :mariomug:!

As you can see, this image is composed of nearly 8 pixels :fr:, which means you probably will have issues reading it even if you scroll in. So hop on the recent page on the trello :boom:!

First, we have a weapons adjustment… skills no longer apply knockback, since roblox made them cause issues :skull:. I’m not sure what exactly it’s referring to, but if it’s things like grab knockbacks, it’s quite sad. Though, if you want to switch your weapons up, you can do that easier with the new trade UI improvements, which give it 3 rows instead of 2 for easier searching :ok_hand:!

Next, a few changes to armor! All leggings now give 50% more stats, since they were fairly minimal before :chart_with_upwards_trend:. Additionally, all boss drops have gotten the same treatment along with an increase in their secondary stats, solidifying their status as what are essentially the best gear in the game… and rightfully so :mariomug:.

The shark and sharkhead shapes no longer use the shape’s hitbox. I have no idea what that means, maybe it’s just based on collision with the shape itself ?

It’s time for some changes and improvements to how stat works in order to prepare for the awakenings ! Now, no matter what stat build you have, you will have 100% damage on all the attacks you’re using! Before, if you were a conjurer, you would only deal half the damage for both magic and weapons. Now, though you’ll deal all of it for both… of course, you still won’t have all those skills and tiers unlocked for them :headstone:. As is hybrids! However, if you use something that doesn’t pertain your build (EX: Using weapons as a berserker), or if you’re specced into vitality, you will still deal less damage .

Of course, this all means that the “scales with” has also been removed from all weapons as it’s redundant… besides for the skill unlocks! You still need strength and weapons both for that.

We’re almost to awakenings! First, the description of the vitality stat has been changed :face_with_monocle:. Second, the 4th and 5th magic/fighting style slots have been removed from the info UI and in their place is a description of how magic and fighting styles work. We already knew for a while that this would be the case, but it’s good to see it in action :boom:!

In this version, every awakening besides the infusing ones (Warlord, Conjurer, Warlock) have been added :eyes:. You can look through this version for all of them, or look at the newly updated awakenings card! They all have names as well, but there’s no point listing them here when they’re already in those 2 places :fr:.

We’re not done with mechanics surrounding awakenings yet, though. The energy bar now regenerates passively after you’ve awoken, which makes fighting a bit easier and allows somewhat more aggressive playstyles :punch:. Of course, charging is still the best option if you need some energy, and need it fast.

Here’s how awakenings lock you to the build: Stats that aren’t related to your build, besides vitality , are now set to 0 after awakening and the spent stat points on them are refunded, and you can no longer spend stat points that aren’t related to your build (Once again, besides vitality). This certainly makes sure you don’t stray away from what you’ve chosen and accidentally do dumb stuff, like me :fr:. As vitality is a certain outlier, serving the purpose of health unless you go all or nothing, it seems to have gotten the pass here.

Additionally, your magic/fighting style will be deleted if you have not specced into them. For example, a mage would lose their fighting style after awakening. Of course, this makes sense . You also can’t use weapons in order to block if you don’t have weapons in your build, since, presumably, they helped reduce damage :shield:.

Lastly, Arcanium ship parts and items no longer have a magic if you forgot said magic due to an awakening :headstone:. Unsure what this totally means, mostly for the ship parts, but you can also still trade with others for arcanium ship parts and items of any type you’d like. Also, finding arcanium items jwith several magics now randomly picks between them :game_die:!

The Bronze Sea map is being finished up, as well! Borders now show for where the dark sea is, so there’s a lesser chance of you accidentally sailing right in :mariomug:.

We’re starting on those unfinished awakenings! First is warlock :punch:! And we have some details on the new Imbuement menu, which is opened using the H key. When doing so with a fighting style equipped, it lets you quickly choose between nothing and your magic(s). When selecting a magic to imbue your fighting style with, it will change the fighting style’s icon, glow, and skill text colors. More imbuing effects coming soon :hourglass:!

v1.10.81 and v1.10.82 are just finishing up the effects for different fighting styles, so we can skip them :fr:.

Let’s look at the imbuement additions first. The visual effects for your fighting style being imbued wears off after ten seconds when out of combat, and when you select it again, it will redo the imbuing animation :eyes:. This doesn’t apply in combat though since it’d be inconvenient. And your fighting style skill names are altered when that fighting style is imbued with magic, though the full extent of this has not yet been finished :+1:.

Almost moving on! Pillar and shockwaves now deal the same damage as sphere! Not sure why this wasn’t the case in the first place , since they’re hitbox changes… pillar trades horizontality for verticality, and shockwave does the opposite. Paralyzed has also received a probably deserved nerf, it’s duration changing from 5 seconds to 2 :chart_with_downwards_trend:.

The Warlock awakening, and imbuing for fighting styles, is FINISHED :poggers2:! All the fighting styles have had their visuals finished when imbued with magic, and they’re now able to have their stats changed to mix with those of the magic they’re infused with :face_with_monocle:! The magic’s status effect also now applies from the attacks of the fighting style when imbued!

We have a few surprises too :flushed:! Imbuing a hot magic into Sailor Style or imbuing a cold magic into Thermo Fist will result in the effects being steam. Obviously, this not only looks cool, but it also has a new burning-like status effect called Seared :fire:. Definitely a very, very cool feature. Warlock NPCs over Level 120 also have their fighting style imbued with their magic :mariomug:!

Lastly for this anchor’s trello notes, a few quick adjustments. Dodging now applies a bit of upwards momentum, which means that you don’t have to jump and dash at the same time for optimal movement anymore :ok_hand:, which was definitely pretty annoying! And now, hybrid builds have higher tiers for their attacks (AOE and visuals, I believe) since they “didn’t scale well”. And I agree. This definitely makes them much more tolerable and viable !

Here’s a few images of Noble meditating atop a spire :v:! Pretty drippy outfit, I must say, but not too much else to talk about here.

And actually last, here’s one of my own images that Vetex let me share ! Insanity can make for some pretty cool pictures sometimes.

That’s all for today’s anchor of The Odyssey Feed. Peace out :v:!

What is the coolest magic you’ve seen so far
Posted by @umen55

Whether over dev updates, gameplay videos, patreon showcases, and more, we’ve seen quite a lot of magic visuals. I don’t think there’s a single one that, at least the patreons, haven’t seen :eye:. So, out of all of them, what’s your favorite! For me, it has to be ice and snow (obviously), earth, and maybe crystal was well. Fire’s neat too :fire:! What’s your favorite?

Crimson Crescent Homies
Created by @pillowythepillow

Four members of Crimson Crescent, which has quite a lot of cool art, I must say, debut in this epic illustration by pillowythepillow :ok_hand:! The style and coloring has quite the charm to it, I must say, and they certainly did a wonderful job with it. Speaking of Crimson Crescent, clans, and speaking of clans, clan recruitments are open, so feel free to advertise your epic organization, there . Great job on this again, pillow!

A Fox’s Return
Written by @Shellseawing

Seawings, especially, are known for writing, and Shell seems to follow suit with another great backstory installment :+1:! We follow a fox, who seems to have extraordinary powers, as they go up against storms and human cruelty. The fox is a creature called an Inari, and when it meets a little girl under similar circumstances, everything changes :boom:.
