Hey, this is Cryonical . Welcome back to another anchor of The Odyssey Feed! For the whole last 2 weeks, I’ve been continuously putting off writing this for literally no reason at all ! With that said, let’s get into it with no delay!

First, here’s a video from Selectorch, in which I completely missed the reference :fr:. It showcases the Iron Leg visuals, which are super great :mechanical_leg:!

Let’s begin on our vast trello note adventure! The material interactions for some magics now no longer use highlight effects, and instead use a glow effect similar to World of Magic, or images from earlier AO. It seems that this was the result of a Roblox update or something similar .

Next, something big: The details for the first Ultimate Art option :flushed:: Blast spells :poggers2:! Depending on the blast size option it can increase the size of the blast by up to 1.8x, increases its damage by 1.2x, and also gives it additional visual effects. The downside is that it has a whopping 30 second cooldown :hourglass:… It seems ultimate blasts will be quite the interesting option! NPCs can also use ultimate art blasts when available .

Proceeding this, 3 new items; the Sorcerer Hat, Sorcerer Robes, and Sorcerer Pants; each with 16 color variations! As far as we can tell, they’re the next step up from the wizard set :face_with_monocle:. Those aren’t all the new items, though… :eye:

Version 1.10.23 adds a whopping 12 new items… the samurai set (3 pieces), the fighter jacket, the warlock jacket, the large cloak, the elite knight’s pauldrons, the elite noble’s pauldrons, the caped silver pauldrons, the caped golden pauldrons, the large jacket, and the arcanium arcsphere :eyes:. All super interesting items that are available at level 100+, I believe . Just these 12 items open up a whole new array of possibilities in both stat builds and outfits :boom:!

Now, a photo of one of Doc’s files… :eyes:. It shows off some boots, one of the new shirt types, the Samurai Straw hat, and a bit of Sailor’s Lodge :fire:.

First, some more progress on the newest story part :+1:.

Let’s look at some of the magic adjustments in this version! The vertical hitbox of the Pillar Explosion now matches the actual visuals. It’s been decreased by 80%, which was later adjusted. The intensity stat affects knockback 50% less and Ultimate Arts now only have 1.5x the knockback, since you could fling people into the exosphere using the wind blast ult :rocket:.

High jumps do not conserve upwards momentum as you could abuse these physics, and Agility affects high jumps much more now, which is a welcome improvement :zap:. We have some ship changes as well: Player ships don’t sway when they have a plank attached to land as this was buggy, and they have better spawn detection so they can’t be spawned inside the Eternal Mines :mariomug:.

Detailing has been given some attention as well! NPCs now use the idle for their fighting style, and clover patches have been added to the detailing system, and will spawn on patches of grass :four_leaf_clover:! Patches of driftwood have been placed on some islands, too . There’s also a tip in the inventory at the game’s beginning stating you cannot view your character’s items, since you wake up in rags :frcryin:.

Once again, we’re starting with more story part progress. This seems to be a very long one! Besides that, though, this version is all about balancing :ok_hand:. Starting off with a very long anticipated quality of life feature, disenchanting! We don’t know much about this besides that it’s done at an alchemist and costs a “decent” amount of galleons :money_with_wings:. A very nice addition indeed!

The player interface is now more compact, status symbols have been moved to the bottom left, and the party interface is more optimized :wrench:. They took some getting used to for me, but definitely let me see a lot more of the screen and look much nicer :fire:.

Now, let’s look at our balancing. There’s a lot of it :mariomug:! Weapon skill endlag has been decreased by 25%, crash scales it’s damage 15% less, puddles and clouds now deal half the damage to bosses, knockback can apply to targets even if they’re stuck in the air from a skill, pillar explosions have had their hitbox increased to 50% of the one before the first change to it we’ve seen today, power is 20% less effective, attack size influences leap spells 30% less, and the Swift enchant for hulls now gives half the sailing speed; only 5 now. That’s quite a lot :sleeper:! They’re all pretty good though, especially that knockback one!

Speaking of damage, we also have some new damage indicator shenanigans :boom:! If a player or NPC gets hit for 30% or more of their health, the indicator will flash orange, have a “!” at the end, and play a special sound effect :headphones:! Additionally, all damage indicators will have their size increase or decrease depending on the amount of damage dealt .

Version 1.10.26 is just more progress on the story part, but in this version it’s finally been completed; Chapter 4 Part 28: Into Ravenna Castle! With it, the max level cap has been raised to 101. With it taking that long, it’s bound to be pretty goated :goat:. To match, 6 quests can be accepted at once instead of 4, which is a nice improvement. Definitely found myself running low on space for quests sometimes.

Our next big feature is here; castaways! They spawn on the open sea on top of debris, like cargo and barrels. When your ship draws near, they wave to you and call for help in the chat. When you speak to them, you have two options; saving or plundering. If you save them, they will get on your ship, where they will stay until you dock your ship near an island with civilization. Once that happens, they’ll wave you goodbye, giving you the parting gift of galleons, 300 fame, a random fish, and a 33% chance of a common treasure chart. If you plunder them, you will get this reward, but bounty instead of fame, and only 33% of the reward. You can’t save them after this.

Overall castaways are a pretty cool feature that not only add a way to get good fame and bounty, but some immersion to the world and a fun side activity :ok_hand:. Additionally, we have a new hint, and 5 new stats; Castaways Saved, Castaways Escorted, Castaways Plundered, Galleons From Castaways, and Castaway Rescue Percentage :mag:. Besides this, something new is being worked on for a story part… wonder what that could be :eye:! Castaways have their own trello card that’s recently been added if you’d like some more detail !

1.10.29 is pretty small… more progress on the next story part, and the unfortunate removal of highlight effects from auras and focus due to roblox making them worse :skull:. Quite sad, since they were a really neat looking part of some magic auras :frcryin:.

That’s right :drum:… the final story boss of the Bronze Sea is beginning it’s development! We’re definitely approaching the end of the Bronze Sea storyline fast :poggers2:! Next, we have a feature called Deckhands. Their details will be spread throughout this version and the next few, but I won’t explain them until the end of their development so you can understand it better :v:. Here’s their trello card if you don’t want to wait:

The final story boss continues development :frhigh:! Additionally, we have some story and system balancing changes to look at; fighting style mastery gain has been increased by 1.5x, which is great. Takes a bit of time off the grind :boom:! Post sailor’s lodge story parts now give less XP, each chapter has more levels between it, and you also need to be at the recommended level to continue in the story :warning:. This encourages doing things besides rushing the storyline !

More progress on the final story boss :chart_with_upwards_trend:, and some galleon-related balancing :moneybag:. The Sailboat has had it’s price halved to 300 galleons to be more easily accessible, 50% less galleons are used up when repairing a boat at a shipwright, and galleons are no longer lost on death if you have under a thousand of them, so you can’t go completely broke from dying over and over :sleeper:.

This first change may shock you :warning:… more progress has been made on the final Bronze Sea boss :scream:! A subversion of expectations for sure. Speaking of “bosses”, White Eyes has had it’s spawn rate decrease, while the other sea monster, Poison Jaws, has received the opposite treatment. You barely ever saw Poison Jaws compared to White Eyes despite their tiers before this . Besides this, Arcanium Ship Parts have slightly less bright coloring :paintbrush:.

Besides more boss progress, deckhands have been finished in their entirety; so it’s time to explain them !

Unhired Deckhand NPCs can spawn in predetermined locations in any town island :mariomug:! They will despawn and spawn occasionally so that the same NPCs aren’t there forever or they just run out. Each Deckhand has one random ship stat that they correlate with, such as wind resistance or turning speed :die:. They have randomized appearances, names, and titles. Deckhands have a level, which influences how much of their stat they give and what they wear. They also come in several tiers; Rookie, Adept, Elite, Master, and Legendary :chart_with_upwards_trend:. Rookie has a x1 stat multiplier, while each extra tier gives it 2x! For example, an elite deckhand would grant 4x the stats of a same leveled rookie :face_with_monocle:.

To hire a deckhand, talk to them. If you have renown that is a thousand times their level, this requirement uppering by 2x for each tier similar to given stats, they will ask you to join, and you can accept :handshake:! They will then get on your boat, replacing a normal sailor. There is 1 slot for them on the rowboat and sailboat, 2 on the caravel, and 3 on the ketch, so choose them wisely ! Even if you switch to a smaller boat, their data saves to you, so if you switch back they’ll be there again :boom:. Every 10 minutes, your deckhands will level up if the renown requirement is met, changing their appearance to possibly include new level locked items but staying similar! You can also talk to them to either fire them, or upgrade their tier. Upgrading them requires both a fee of galleons, and the renown that would be required to hire them if you met them at that level and the next tier :moneybag:.

Overall, deckhands are a really interesting counterpart to the rival/npc hunting system that not only gives a big incentive to getting a large amount of renown, but also opens up opportunities to further specialize your ship :fire:. If you find a deckhand that you like the name, stat, appearance, and title of but their level and tier isn’t up to par, don’t hesitate to hire them, as you can upgrade both of those things :ok_hand:! There’s also 2 new hints and 3 new stats: Deckhands Hired, Deckhands Upgraded, and Deckhands fired.

This is our last version for today! More progress on the final bronze sea story boss has been made . Besides that, though, we have something similarly exciting: the start of Sailor Style, which seems to have been renamed that from Sailor’s Fist . Oh well! It’s stated that this will be the last style for early access, which seems quite fitting. We’ve seen a lot of development on fighting styles recently ! Now that this is out of the way, let’s take a look at some testers’ files that have been shown:

I’m not quite sure who the top one is :frcryin:, but the middle one is my main file, Cryonical (The character, not me in real life!), and the one on the bottom is DocTheWarBird, who shows off several weapons we’ve never seen before.

Last but not least for the images we’ll be taking a look at, we have what seems to be an Arcane Odyssey titlescreen! Someone like me could surely never take such a screenshot :frpensive:. It seems to show off wind magic and a dripped out character, so feast your eyes :hungry:!

The very final thing for this very ultimate anchor is a new video by Selectorch! Vetex revealed in development updates that a trailer is in the works with original music :eyes:, and he’s linked a video compiling some clips that may be used in it! The video you’re about to see is not a trailer and isn’t super cinematic, though don’t watch if you can’t handle the cold clips :warning:.

I won’t cover everything and instead let you watch it yourself, but you can see the Arcanium Arcsphere, castaways, the stepstones along with many other islands, deckhands, thermo fist, upgraded Edward Kenton, skyships, and more . Make sure to check it out!

That’s all for today’s anchor of The Odyssey Feed. Peace out :v:!

Here, though we have the chance to sort other forumers using polls, and even get yourself sorted … take what you will from this and go vote!

Another artist returning after a while of inactivity steps into the fray… that, or I just haven’t seen them before or am remembering incorrectly, both of which are possibilities :fr:! Their incredible and original art style, vivid coloration, interesting outfits and hair, and absolutely incredible work with perspectives, lighting, effects, and motion makes this one really cool to look at :ok_hand:.
