Basically just the message I linked. With the new change in the patch notes about Arcanium items being forced to be of a magic you have, this suggestion is to make it so you can still own an arcanium item that isn’t attuned to a magic you have, but you can’t equip it without it changing into one of your magic types.
Details/background on your proposal
This poll shows that while people generally like this change to arcanium items, they don’t like that it automatically converts them. I still think making it so that you can only benefit from arcanium items that are attuned to your magic types is understandable and isn’t necessarily a bad thing, but allowing you to carry ones that aren’t your magics will still allow the collectors or the people who want to use these items as vanity to do just that. I would also extend the suggestion just slightly to give players a confirmation popup if they try to equip an arcanium item into a stat slot that isn’t of one of their magics, just to help prevent accidental cases of losing an arcanium item.
Reason to add/change
I know that this isn’t in the game yet, but the fact that there are a lot of people speaking out against this change tells me that it should be checked over again before getting shipped out to the main game along with the Nimbus update. Since a major problem I’m seeing is that people don’t like the automatic conversions but the intent is that there’s going to be accessories for every build, this hits a middle ground between the benefits from certain magics alongside letting non-magic builds (or magic builds with an arcsphere that isn’t their magic for the drip purposes) collect the types of arcanium equipment and use them as vanity.

You should be allowed to equip any strength robes as vanity, even if you don’t have the respective fighting styles. Also, if things have to be the way they are now, you could simply prevent someone from equipping an arcsphere or other arcanium item that doesn’t have their magic instead of it automatically transforming once you obtain it. You could add an item which allows you to transform any arcanium/strength item into an item that relates to one of your magics/fstyles after that. If you’ve come up with this solution for the fighting style items, why can’t the same solution apply to arcanium items?
Amendment after 1.14.65
This got in for the most part, so collectors rejoice! However, there is no note about being allowed to use them for vanity, and the same goes for fighting style equipment. I still think you should be allowed to use both types as vanity.
No reason not to make this small change. Since vanity doesnt affect stats it wont give anyone an edge over eachother.
The literal only way this could be exploited, if you can call it that, is through trading an arcanium item to a new file with that magic to give them free stat boosts, but even then, it just saves them time getting it for themselves.
ship parts i feel like are in their own separate instance, it’s hard to say one way or the other if arcanium ship parts should be changed like anything else
I’d rather have the current Arcanium Items since they don’t permanently affect what Stat Equips work with your mostly-permanent Magic choice, but if there’s no going back, I’d rather have this than not being able to own other Arcspheres / ArcBracelets at all.
This is true, the true ideal situation is that your magics don’t change what stats the arcanium gear gives at all, but this suggestion was made on the assumption that the choice wouldn’t be rolled back. In my opinion, if magics give bonus stats then those bonus stats being tied to your magic is a good thing to prevent meta builds from becoming even stronger
